We have been loving our air fryer lately, using it for more and more different things. Not just the basics either. Plus I’m always looking for new interesting ideas for school lunches for the kids. These air fryer pizza rolls were a winner, with both kids loving them (and us grown ups too).
The best part – they only take around 15 minutes to prep and cook, which is perfect if you’re short on time for a quick snack or meal idea!
The other thing I love about this air fryer recipe is the fact that I already had all the ingredients I needed already.
15 MINUTE AIR FRYER PIZZA ROLLS
What You Will Need
- A pack of frozen puff pastry sheets
- Tomato paste
- Grated cheese (mozzarella works best)
- Fillings of your choice – ham, bacon, salami, olives, mushroom etc
Method
1 – Spread out tomato paste or pizza sauce on a sheet of puff pastry.
2 – Add your toppings and grated cheese on top. Have your toppings close to the edge on 3 of the 4 sides as this gives you a little room once you roll your pastry.
3 – Roll up your puff pastry sheet and press down firm at the end (this was my first one and I didn’t leave a gap with my fillings).
4 – Slice into smaller portions.
5 – Add a sheet of baking paper to your air fryer basket. Not essential however it can help reduce the mess and stop your melted cheese sticking. Bake for around 10-12 minutes in the air fryer on 180 degrees celsius.
And that’s it! Yourpizza scrolls in air fryer are ready to enjoy! They taste great warm, out of the air fryer, or you put them in an airtight container once they have cooled and refrigerate for school lunches. You can also freeze them if you want to make up a big batch in bulk and have some for later.
They are essentially like sausage rolls with the puff pastry but with an airfryer pizza twist! You could absolutely do a similar air fryer recipe using ground beef and fillings or try chicken sausage rolls in the air fryer instead, using a similar method!
We have a Philips Air Fryer and we love it. Really easy to use, easy to clean and it does a great job with all the different types of food we cook in it. Ours is an older model now, however I will absolutely be going Philips again when we need to upgrade. Although ours is doing great so far so hopefully that’s a while away! Next time we will get the extra large air fryer though so we can do larger portions of meat too.
