How To Play Christmas Would You Rather
The basic version is exactly what it sounds like. Read a question, everyone picks one of the two options, and then argues about why.
But there are better ways to play than just taking turns, and these are the three that work best in our house.
1. Move To Answer
Instead of answering out loud, put one option on the left side of the room and the other on the right. Read the question and everyone moves to the side they’ve chosen.
This is the one I’d recommend if you’ve got kids who have been sitting still too long, and it works just as well in a classroom. It also means the shy ones join in without having to speak.
2. Guess What They’ll Say
Before someone answers, everyone else writes down what they think that person will choose. Then compare.
This turns a conversation game into a competitive one, and it’s a lot funnier with family who reckon they know each other well.
3. Team Vote
Split into two teams. Read a question, and each team has thirty seconds to agree on one answer between them. Points for the team that finishes with a decision before time runs out.
Getting six people to agree on gingerbread versus eggnog in thirty seconds is the whole game.
