How To Make Oreo Ghost Cookies
This Halloween treat recipe will make around 12 Oreo ghosts, or more if you’re using standard-sized Oreos instead of the mega stuffed ones. They can also be super cute as packaged Halloween gifts to hand out at a party or for trick-or-treaters.
They are so quick and simple to make! You can have a batch ready in about 1 hour (and most of that is chilling time).

STEP ONE – Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
STEP TWO – Melt the chocolate by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and heating in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth and melted.
STEP THREE – Dip the Oreo cookies into the melted chocolate until coated, allowing excess to drip off. Place on the baking tray with space around each one.
STEP FOUR – While the chocolate is still wet, add 2 candy eyeballs to the top of each chocolate-coated Oreo.
STEP FIVE – Fill a piping bag with melted white chocolate, snip off the tip and pipe a ghost shape around the edge of each cookie, making sure it touches the chocolate-coated Oreo.
STEP SIX – Place the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes until the chocolate is completely set.
STEP FIVE – Use a black edible marker to draw the ghost mouth, or use a black candy instead (during step 4).
If the chocolate is drying too quickly for the candy eyes to stick, use a little melted chocolate on the back to stick them on.

Tips For Making Ghost Oreo Cookies
- Use a fork or dipping tool to coat the Oreos smoothly.
- Add the eyes quickly before the chocolate sets.
- Let kids decorate their own ghost faces for a fun Halloween activity.
Storing Your Ghost Cookies
Keep your finished Oreo ghosts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. They’re best served cold to keep the chocolate firm.
