Christmas Party Food Ideas For Kids

There’s something extra special about Christmas-themed food! Sure, it helps that it tastes good but it’s just so much fun to go that extra step with festive desserts and finger foods for your Christmas party.

It’s that one time of the year when it’s perfectly acceptable to be a bit extra, and I’m here for it!

To help you plan the perfect dishes for your next holiday party, this Christmas food list has both savoury snacks, simple yet visually appealing platters, and Christmas finger foods, as well as Christmas treats kids will love (and so will everyone else).

There’s a reason this is my favourite time of the year for food, and this list is going to have you excited to try some new recipes this December!

Savoury Christmas Party Food & Appetisers

If you're feeding a crowd, you need something other than sugar on the table, and these are the savoury party foods that still look festive.

Christmas Platters & Grazing Boards

The easiest way to fill a Christmas party table fast, because a good grazing board is mostly assembly rather than cooking.

Christmas Party Treats & Desserts

My favourite section - the Christmas treats! Most of these holiday treats are no bake, which means the kids can help you make them. They are great for school Christmas party food too!

What To Make Ahead

Almost nothing here needs to be made on the day, which is the whole point of choosing recipes like these.

  • Freeze weeks ahead: Christmas crack, rum balls, truffles and anything chocolate-based. I make ours in early December and forget about them.
  • Make the day before: Crackles, bliss balls, cake pops, anything set in the fridge. Keep them in an airtight container. Many appetisers can also be made the day before.
  • Do on the day: Anything with fresh fruit or veg, cheese boards, pinwheels and dips.

Working backwards from the party means the only thing left on the day is assembly.

Make your Christmas party extra special with these festive food ideas for kids (but not just for kids)! Packed with fun and tasty treats, these recipes are perfect for adding a bit of holiday magic to any gathering.
