This Captain America platter is quick to put together, fun for both kids and adults, and a great way to wow your guests with a themed dessert that doubles as a party decoration.
Easy Avengers Party Food Idea

If you’re planning an Avengers or Marvel-themed party, themed snacks are a must. This Captain America platter is a showstopper that looks impressive but is super easy to recreate. All you need are a few simple treats in red, white, and blue to build the shield pattern.
I first made this platter for my daughter’s 10th birthday party, which was Marvel themed, and recreated it for my own 40th Marvel birthday party. We are a little MCU fanatical in our household!
It’s a fun twist on a dessert board or candy tray and makes the perfect addition to a kids’ birthday party, movie marathon night, or even a superhero-themed family night in.
What You Will Need
To make your Captain America shield platter, you will need:
- Red layer: Raspberry lollies, red licorice (or use red gummy candy, strawberries, or raspberries) or use fruits such as strawberries, raspberries or cherry tomatoes.
- White layer: White chocolate-dipped pretzels (simply dip mini pretzels in melted white chocolate and let set) or other white candies, popcorn and chocolates.
- Blue layer: fresh blueberries
- Centre star: Star-shaped cookie cutter filled with popcorn or other white candies.
How To Make a Captain America Dessert Platter
This Captain America fruit platter is all about layering. You can use anything you want, as long as it has the right colours. Here’s how to create the Captain America shield look:

STEP ONE – Place a star-shaped cookie cutter in the centre of your serving platter. Fill it with popcorn.
STEP TWO – Around the star, add a circle of red candy or fruit pieces.
STEP THREE – Follow with a circle of white chocolate-dipped pretzels. You can buy these or pre-prepare them by dipping pretzels in white chocolate and letting them set on a piece of parchment paper on a tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
STEP FOUR – Next, create a ring of fresh blueberries to form the blue section of the shield.
STEP FIVE – Finish with an inner ring of raspberries, strawberries, red lollies or licorice. Your Captain America shield platter is ready to serve!
Tips For Your Captain America Platter

- Use a round platter or tray for the best shield effect.
- Prep the white chocolate pretzels the night before for easy assembly.
- Swap candies for fruit if you want a healthier option (strawberries, banana chips, blueberries).
- Mix and match textures (chewy candy, crunchy popcorn, juicy fruit) for balance.
Serving Your Marvel Dessert Board

Serve your Captain America dessert platter as a party table centrepiece. It works perfectly as a dessert option, snack board, or movie night treat. Kids will love the bright colours and fun superhero theme, and adults will love how simple it is to make!
This Avengers-inspired party food is proof that themed desserts don’t have to be complicated. With just a few ingredients, you can make a dessert platter that’s as heroic as Captain America himself.
