Easy Valentine Bark Recipe

When it comes to Valentine’s Day food ideas, I love recipes that are simple, flexible and don’t require baking. This Valentine bark recipe ticks all those boxes.

Similar to Easter egg crack or holiday chocolate bark recipes, this Valentine’s bark is all about layering, melting and letting the fridge do the work. It’s quick to make and easy to customise with whatever Valentine-themed treats you have on hand.

It also makes a great valentines treat to make with kids, thanks to all the sprinkling and decorating involved.

How To Make Valentine’s Day Chocolate Bark

This recipe makes approximately 24–36 pieces of chocolate bark, depending on how large you break the bark.

STEP ONE

Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper.

STEP TWO

Break the Oreo cookies into smaller pieces and spread them evenly over the prepared baking sheet. You can do this by hand or put them in a ziplock bag and smash them into smaller pieces with a rolling pin.

STEP THREE

Break the pretzel sticks in half and sprinkle them over the Oreo pieces.

STEP FOUR

Scatter the Valentine M&M candies over the cookies and pretzels, spreading them evenly.

STEP FIVE

Melt the chocolate melts or almond bark over low heat, or microwave according to the package directions, until smooth. I typically microwave in 30-second increments and stir in between until smooth.

STEP SIX

Pour half of the melted chocolate over the cookie and candy mixture. Use a fork to gently move the chocolate around so it sinks in between the layers.

STEP SEVEN

Pour the remaining chocolate over the top, covering as much of the mixture as possible.

STEP EIGHT

Decorate with heart sprinkles, then place the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, or until fully set.

STEP NINE

Once set, remove from the fridge and break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
