How To Make Reindeer Pretzels

This recipe is one of those ones where you can make a whole lot with a bag of chocolate melts and a packet of pretzels, or just make a few for a small treat.

They are so quick and simple to make! You can have a batch ready in under an hour (and half of that is chilling time).

STEP ONE – Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

STEP TWO – Melt the chocolate by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and heating in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth and melted.

STEP THREE – Form the reindeer base by dipping two mini pretzel sticks into the melted chocolate and laying them side by side on the parchment-lined tray. Make sure the chocolate is even and that the pretzel sticks are right next to each other.

STEP FOUR – Decorate the reindeer faces while the chocolate is still melted, adding two eyeball candies and a red nose M&M or similar candy to create Rudolph’s face.

STEP FIVE – Allow them to chill in the refrigerator until completely set. This usually only takes around 30 minutes.

If the chocolate is drying to quickly for the candy nose and eyes to stick, use a little melted chocolate on the back to stick them on.

This pretzel stick reindeer recipe also works with dark chocolate if you prefer a richer flavour.

Tips For Making Chocolate Pretzel Reindeers

  • Use tweezers or a toothpick to help place the eyes and nose if you’re working with tiny hands or want more precision.
  • Try white chocolate or dark chocolate for different looks—or even coloured candy melts for extra fun. Sometimes non-traditional is more fun!
  • Let the kids get creative by using different coloured noses or silly eye placements.

Storing Your Pretzel Reindeers

Once the chocolate has hardened, store your reindeer pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They’re perfect to make ahead of time for your holiday celebrations.
