Rent to Own Car or Buy your Own

Should you get a rent to own car or buy one that you can immediately call your own? Do your research and decide wisely, so you don’t end up with any buyers guilt from spending beyond your budget.  Both have their own pros and cons, and it all depends on your income and how much you can budget towards monthly or weekly repayments or lease fees. Doing up a budget before you begin is a great place to start.

The Space

One of the things that you need to consider is the size and space of the car’s interior. If you have just one child, then getting a small vehicle would be practical. If you have 3 or more kids, then you will likely want to consider getting a bigger family car. Toddlers and babies need car seats, and those are pretty bulky. SUVs and vans are both great choices if you need the extra space.

The Seats and Trunk

If you want a car that can hold a bunch of groceries and your child’s stroller, then a car that has foldable back seats and a big trunk could be the best choice. SUVs, wagons and minivans can be a great choice for this, however many sedans also have a great amount of space. Visiting some dealerships to get a feel for the size car that will suit your needs is a helpful idea.

Safety First

One of the most important things that you should take note of when buying a new family car is safety. You want to ensure safety for your whole family, because children are precious cargo. Make sure the car you are considering is equipped with things such as blind spot warnings, lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise controls, auto brakes, and of course, airbags. These things can save lives.

Your Location and Climate

If you live in a place wherein driving on ice is a constant challenge, then you may wish to consider getting an all-wheel-drive or a four-wheel drive vehicle. For people who live in a place where dirt and gravel has to be dealt with, then get a car with additional ground clearance, and tires that can withstand rough roads.

The Doors and its Features

If your children and family are your main priority when it comes to getting a new vehicle, then you may find life is a lot easier when you have a four door car. Sure you can make do with a 2 door, but it can be a bit of a hassle and time consuming if you are clipping kids into carseats in the back. You may also want to consider getting a side door with sliding features, which can be a useful design feature.

The best advice that you can take when deciding on a family car would be to get a vehicle that you can easily afford. Your monthly payment must not exceed 15 percent of your income, as spending more can mean can put you at risk of being unable to manage your repayments or other living expenses.

Decide what’s Important for you

Do you want to get a luxury car, or is frugality important for you? Is your main priority your kids’ comfort? Do you need a pet-friendly vehicle for your fur family? List these things and weigh them up before finally deciding on a car. This is a decision you don’t want to rush as you want a family vehicle that will last a significant period, and serve your needs with growing and adapting families.

Nothing is more satisfying than seeing your children’s eyes gleam with happiness at your new vehicle. Research online, consider some vehicles, weigh out your options, talk to your partner, and decide wisely. Have a fun time driving your car away.
