August is over already so it’s time for the second monthly wrap up. And what a month August was! Not only did I launch my first ebook – ‘Earn At Home‘ to help others create an income from home, but also a corresponding mini email course and a blog post series all relating to ways and methods of earning money from home.
It has been months in the making but I am so excited to say it is all done now and fingers crossed the ebook does well. I have 2 more in the planning stage aiming to launch in December and another mid next year if all goes to plan. Just need to work on that procrastination habit I am so fond of, but they will be themed around the Simplify My Life challenge in a workbook format, and a money saving one mid next year.
On top of all that excitement, hubby had knee surgery on the last day of July and spent 2 weeks in recovery at home, disrupting our routine again (although we love having him home). It probably allowed me to get a little more done too instead of solo parenting at night during the week.
I have learnt that travel blogging is time consuming – photo editing takes forever, but reliving previous adventures is pretty awesome, plus it has inspired us to have a few close to home adventures with the kids recently too, such as some daytrips from Brisbane.
In other news, Violet is growing at rapid pace, having gained around 2kg since birth. She’s 3 months old already. And her big sister Lily adores her.
Norwex – My niece recently started her own cleaning business and is doing great. She was introduced to Norwex which is a Norwegian cleaning product company, with an emphasis on natural products. Most only need water and one of their cleaning cloths. And these things are amazing! I had heard people raving about the products before but now I too am converted. Worth checking out (and nope… not a sponsored post).
Typo – I mentioned last month how much I love Typo notebooks. Well they recently launched a whole new range of cool journals – activity journals. There are bucketlists, a note a day for 3 years, daily photo journal and lots of other cool versions. About $19.95-29.95 each but sign up online because they have lots of percentage off sales. I’m thinking Christmas presents for those hard to buy for people!
Garmin Vivofit – Around this time last year I was motivated to get a little fitter around the time I finished up at my former job, plus needed a watch for starting my contract work. The Vivofit is a step tracker as well as a watch, unlike some of the other step trackers. Well, when I found out I was pregnant late September, I ditched it since I knew it was only a matter of time before getting fat. Naughty! However my rather sedentary work at home lifestyle has prompted me to get the steps tracking going again because some days, it’s pretty bad how much time I spend on my butt!
Sadly I missed out on the ProBlogger conference on the Gold Coast, despite being about half an hour from the venue on one of the days during a family outing. But I did spend a whole lot of time hashtag stalking on Twitter with all the #pbevent updates. And of course the ProBlogger updates that started popping up afterwards.
Here are some well worth a read:
10 Types of People You Meet at a Blogging Conference – This article from Rachel at Turtles Aren’t For Toilets is hilarious. If you are a blogger, which one would you be?
The One Question We Should All Ask – Chantelle from Fat Mum Slim sharing her takeaway from ProBlogger and what a powerful question it is.
Problogger Event – Thoughts & Ruth Soukup – I’m a fan of Ruth and was sad not to be attending largely because I would have loved hearing her speak, but Lisa has summed it up great in this post.
As far as my own blog posts go during August, my 7 Tips for Cooking a Month Worth of Meals in One Afternoon was back up to the top spot for my most popular post, and the most popular during August was my Ultimate Guide to Surviving Pregnancy, a wrap up of all my pregnancy and baby related posts.
And I know it’s totally crazy, but I have plans for a potential 3rd blog. Over committing probably comes to mind but now I know what people mean when they say it is addictive. I’ve already purchased the domain just in case…
