Welcome to Day 2 of the Earn At Home Series. This time we are looking at freelancing as a great way to earn an income from home.
What is Freelancing?
This is a fairly broad question as freelancing can incorporate any skill. Many of these skills you would have also already been utilising as an employee for a company, or have the potential to do so, however instead of working for someone else, you are working for yourself.
A freelancer is a person who performs a service for another individual in an area of speciality. Common types of freelancing include the following:
- Web design
- Event planning
- Business planning
- Web and software development
This is a pretty small sample of just a few of the types of freelance work you can do to earn an income from home.
How Do I Become a Freelancer?
This really comes down to the existing skills you have. If you have previous employment experience in a professional or specialist field, many of these skills can be practiced on a freelance basis. There are also many skills that you can develop with no prior experience, such as freelance writing for websites or magazines.
Determine what skills you have and put them into use on a solo basis, providing support to individual clients and businesses who need your assistance on either a short or long term basis.
